A Moment of Time, A Moment of Truth

"It is my belief that pictures are merely tiny snippets of time that have been frozen by technology. Each picture is a moment that was captured and each moment holds an element of truth."

WEEK TWO, DAY 1: TRAGEDY'S EFFECT

Wednesday 20th January 2010

An elderly woman receiving medical treatment holds her head in anguish as another earthquake shakes Port Au Prince, Haiti. Just seeing how weak and fragile this woman appears in this picture is heartrending and the way she holds herself is as if she’s silently pleading for the torment to end. It really evokes strong emotion with the observer, but there is hope that this woman can survive because blurred in the background is The Red Cross association and a worker which signifies aid and treatment.
